The meniscus is a C-shaped piece of cartilage located between the thighbone (femur) and shinbone (tibia) in your knee. Each knee has two menisci—one on the inside (medial) and one on the outside (lateral). They act as shock absorbers, stabilizers, and lubricators for the joint.

How is Meniscal Repair Performed?
Meniscal repair is a minimally invasive procedure done through arthroscopy, where a camera and specialized tools are inserted into small incisions around the knee. Unlike traditional partial meniscectomy (removal of the damaged tissue), meniscal repair preserves the meniscus, which is better for long-term knee health.
