Dr. Jihad Abouali

Dr. Jihad Abouali is a fellowship-trained knee and shoulder repair orthopedic surgeon based in Toronto, Ontario. He specializes in advanced, minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery and non-surgical regenerative medicine. His orthopedic surgical residency training was completed at McMaster University, where he followed up with Fellowship training in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy at the University of Toronto. Currently, he is the head physician for the Scarborough Shooting Stars professional basketball team. He was formerly the head Orthopaedic Surgeon for the Toronto F.C. soccer team and co-Orthopaedic Surgeon for the Toronto Argonauts football team. He was appointed the role of Lead Physician at the 2015 Pan Am Games and the Chief Orthopaedic Surgeon for the 2022 Ontario Games. He has ongoing consultant roles with Team Canada Basketball, Team Canada Soccer, and the Canadian Olympic Team.

Dr. Abouali is an active Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, as well as an Assistant Clinical Professor at McMaster University. Additionally, he is the fellowship director for the Toronto East Health Network Lower Extremity Reconstruction Fellowship.
